General Information
Who can register
To register in Georgia you must:
- be a citizen of the United States
- be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you want to vote
- be 18 years old within six months after the day of registration, and be 18 years old to vote
- not be serving a sentence for having been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude
- not have been judicially determined to be mentally incompetent, unless the disability has been removed

- Sign and date your form. This is very important!
- Mail or hand-deliver your completed form to the address we provide.
- Make sure you register before the voter registration deadline.

Early Voting
As Election Day approaches, your county may have multiple early voting sites and even extended hours. Voting times and locations for your precinct can be found here.
Any voter registered in Georgia may vote absentee in person. Absentee in person voting begins the 4th Monday before the election. Please note that you cannot vote on the day right before the Tuesday election.

Absentee ballot rules
Any registered Georgia voter may apply for an absentee ballot and vote absentee.
How to get Absentee ballot
- Use our Absentee Ballot form below to prepare your application.
- Sign and date the form. This is very important!
- Return your completed application to your Local Election Office as soon as possible. We’ll provide the mailing address for you.
- All Local Election Offices will accept mailed or hand-delivered forms. If it’s close to the deadline, call and see if your Local Election Office will let you fax or email the application.
- Make sure your application is received by the deadline. Your application must actually arrive by this time — simply being postmarked by the deadline is insufficient.
- Please contact your Local Election Office if you have any further questions about the exact process.
What to do next
- Once you receive the ballot, carefully read and follow the instructions.
- Sign and date where indicated.
- Mail your voted ballot back to the address indicated on the return envelope.
- Your voted ballot must arrive by the deadline or it will not be counted.

Pollling Information
Polling Place Locator
You can find your polling place by utilizing your state resource. If you have further questions on your polling place location, please contact your county clerk.
Polling Place Hours
Polls are open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on Election Day. Any voter who is waiting in line to vote at 7:00 pm will be allowed to vote.
Poll Worker Information
In order to be a poll worker in Georgia, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be a resident of the county that you apply for
- Complete required training
You will be entitled to compensation. To sign up, contact your local board of elections.
Elections Division
The Elections Division of the Secretary of State’s Office organizes and oversees all election activity, including voter registration, municipal, state, county, and federal elections. They are responsible for certification of election results as well as certifying the qualification of candidates and preparation of ballots and election forms and materials. The Elections Division provides Great Seal certification for authentication of public documents for foreign use for non-Hague countries. Along with those duties, the Elections Division maintains the Statewide Voter Registration Database to ensure that voter registration lists are current statewide. They are also accountable for investigating election fraud and enforcing state election laws.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is the CEO and owner of Tendon Systems, LLC. Tendon is a specialty contracting and engineering design firm with nearly 150 employees. The firm has operated in 35 different states. Raffensperger also owns and operates a specialty steel manufacturing plant based in Forsyth County. Additionally, he served two terms in the Georgia General Assembly from 2015-2019.
Brad Raffensperger earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Western University and was awarded his MBA from Georgia State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in over 30 states.
Brad and his wife, Tricia, have been married for 42 years and live in Johns Creek. Brad is a member of North Point Community Church.
